Here is the thing to remember;   We only use single-use, disposable and sterile needles.

Furthermore, Acupuncture needles are so very thin, that most clients only report feeling a sensation when the needle is inserted.
Unlike needles used for injections, acupuncture needles are solid, so they do not gather skin when inserted.  
Hypodermic needles, for example, are hollowed to allow for delivery of drugs such as immunization shots.  When a hypodermic needle passes through the skin, it gathers up skin, which may hurt a bit upon injection.
